COVID-19 (CORONAVIRUS) STATEMENT

In these uncertain times, Properly Protected and Simon Farquhar & Associates (SFA) Ltd are aware that people are concerned about being required to self-isolate and want to know if Coronavirus related time-off work is covered by their existing I ncome protection policy.
We have been working closely with the insurance Providers over the last few weeks, to enable us to answer your questions affectively and without undue delay.
To date, the feedback received from Providers is that, for Income Protection policies taken out before specific dates in mid-March 2020 (circa. 14th – 17th, dependant on Provider), claims for Self-Isolation (even in the absence of a doctors Medical Fit/Sickness certificate) will be considered, and claims for diagnosed Coronavirus will be processed as per the Providers usual procedures and T&C’s.
A number of the Providers have also advised us that they are looking at ways they can offer further support for our clients, one of which includes the possible introduction of ‘payment holidays’ if your income has dropped as a result of the Coronavirus outbreak and you are finding it difficult to pay your premiums.
This is a constantly evolving situation and of course as things become clearer we will update via our social media and website.
